Has anyone used Hydor Koralia powerheads with a wave maker? Do they make any noise? I have an old wave maker that I used with Maxi powerheads but they were too noisy so I gave up. Just wondering if the Hydors worked any better.

They are not meant to be used on a wavemaker unless they are the low voltage AC (yes they are AC , I have tested the output on my contoller) controllable models that have their own controller. The regular AC powerheads will chatter upon starting so unless it is a wavemaker that just dials down the output rather than on/off, you will have startup chatter and a shortened life.

They will not last long on a wavemaker.

Just get two of them and point them at each other long ways down the tank. You will get some awesome random flow, I do that with two K4s in my 120 gallon, IMO a wavemaker is not needed if you do this.
