I got some about 6 weeks ago....color is awesome! It now has 3 stalks but has something growing or coming I should say out of the side of 2 of them about a quarter of the way down the stalk. How do these reproduce? I was guessing new stalks out from the base but maybe I guessed wrong! Any input appreciated!!!:bounce3:

I bought some a while back, and they bend their stems down onto nearby rock and make new xenias that way. I put frag discs under where they're bending down so they attach.

If this is Cespitularia, it will actually either grow a foot or put out a leg from the side. It doesn't grow like your normal Xenia where if it is touching it will attach and split. Mine grows out like 6 inch feet and then stalks grow up from that.

for cespitularia what light is best?
I've got one (not very blue). it is placed 25 inches from a 160 W 16000K HQI.

I can't tell you for sure. I do have mine about 10" below a 150w 20k bulb and it has been growing like crazy.

a bulb will growut the side and hang down. once it makes contact with a piece of rubble or placed disk it will attach itself. you can then cut it with a razor blade or just let it separate on its own

Anything the branch has contact with, it will attach too. Glass,Rock,Power heads ext.

Mine got sucked into my K4 and now they are sprouting everywhere. Seems you cant kill em, even by chopping them up.
