I just bought a Tang and am trying to get him to eat, where do you put your clips?

I put mine right on the front glass where it's easy to reach. I used to put one on the side, but it fell off and landed right behind my anemone's oral disk. Been there ever since

I always put in on the front glass right where it is very obvious. After going through a few clips because the suction cups were wearing out, I tied a small piece of airline tubing around it (and the canopy) and just let it bob in the current...the tangs seem to like it like that better.

thanks everyone, I had been placing it on the side, but was thinking the power heads might be spooking him a little.

i put mine on the bottom of the front glass and i glued the clip to a small magfloat magnet.

I tied some fishing line to mine. Tied the end to a cross brace in the canopy. That way I can pull it out w/o ever putting my hand in the water. It dangles nicely in the middle of the tank when feeding.

great Idea, I like the thought being able to bring it to the surface of the water without reaching in the tank.

yeah i like these ideas, i've gone through a few clips now. I usually put mine where it's easiest to reach, i have a powerhead pointing right at it so the fish have to swim into the current to get to it - make 'em work for it a bit haha

+1 That's exactly what I do.

All great ideas. Am going to use the magfloat idea (thanks). To the original post: your tang will be very shy for a few days but after that will likely eat anywhere you chose to place clip.

i used aqua mend and stuck mine to a rock. i use grabbers to pull in up and put nori in it. now its covered in coraline algae and is hardly noticable when not in use

I have a small piece of rubble that I tied a length of string to. I rubberband a piece to that and drop it in, pull it up by the string when its gone and dont have to get my hands wet.
