how many return pump GPH in a 15g frag tank thats being added to my 50g?

oh.. and its got 3.2" of head and 4 feet of run.

In this situation as much gph as your drain can hold, maybe a little less to allow for partial clogs.

i don't really want to spend a lot on the pump but right nowi have a quiet one 1200 (296gph) and its not doing the job at all.. but i don't want so much flow that it stirs up the sand bed

maybe a mag3? 350gph

I would probably go with a mag5 due to the tubing run. If it is too much you can throttle it down with a ball valve.

I run about 65x turn over with sugar sized sand and have no problems. You will probably be fine as long as you can aim the flow.

yeah i was thinking about a ball valve with a higher output pump.. i think thats the best route to go. thanks
