Hi,

I am starting a 65 G aquarium (peninsula shaped). I need some detail on creating diffrent shapes using PVC pipes etc...

Just a personal opinion, but with that size tank, I'm not sure that you benefit from PVC framework. The answer would seem to be proper selection of a combination of shelf, tonga and base rack and just carefully stack. Use of tie wraps may subsitute for any benefit gained from using PVC.

JMHO.

Good luck with your build.

That is a good article Mentat. Some of those are really nice, others I didn't like too much.

However I wouldn't do a peninsula like that. I would do a peninsula using some openly stacked fiji, tonga branch, and lace rock. Start high toward the back, like 6" from the top and taper down, but remember to keep it open to help with flow and give it the minimalist look. I would say use a piece of lace rock as a shelf in the middle or front to give yourself a big arch.

zip-tieing rocks together really helped me with my aquascaping. It's really all trial and error. Get your rocks set out on a flat surface and start stacking them. Try different positions, orientations, combinations until you get something you like.
