HEY GUYS, I CURRENTLY HAVE A 55G REEF THAT HAS BEEN UP FOR THREE YEARS NOW, GREAT coral growth and never had a dead fish .. fish list includes(yellow tang, hippo tang, six line, clownfish, 3 chromis) after two years with these fish, i finally decided to add a flame angelfish, that we bought at our lfs on friday. Yesterday the flame was out and about but today i get home to see no flame in the tank, i immediately look on the floor for a jumper, but find nothing. after 30 minutes i spot the dead flameangel between a tiny hole the the live rock.. the problem is that all my rock structure is cemented so the fish is at the very back of a tiny spot..removing the fish would mean removing the entire reef structure..my question is will the decaying fish crash my entire tank or will my constant water changes help battle the amonia...thanks

Shouldn't present any issues, particularly if you have scavengers such as hermits/serpent star.

You might want to make certain the area has good water flow. Maybe use a turkey baster.

no, of course it wont. If you have a good clean up crew the carcass wont last 2 nights...hermits, bristle worms and nas. snails will love the treat! if it was like 4 or 5 dead fish then maybe, but not one, don't sweat it!

Your clean up crew should take care of it.

a decaying fishing body will raise the ammonia level a in a spike. On an well established thank with a stable bacterial population should not be a problem taking care of that ammonia spike. You may see the levels bouncing a bit, but the tank will rebalance itself pretty soon.

hope it helps,
Marian

Wait for the body to become soft from some decay and then remove the soft body with suction or blowing, if necessary. This may be easier.

Like others said, dont worry about it. If you still see most of it intact after 3-4 days, try to come up with and idea of how to remove it.
