ph probe in kalk

can i put a ph probe in my ato container that i have running with kalk to monitor when it is loosing efficiency. i read that limewater does not last forever so i am assuming when it gets below a ph of 12 it has started to lose its effect? will this damage my ph probe?

kalk might precipitate on it? why not do it for a week(or batch) of ato water and see how the PH drops per day or so.

I check mine once when I make it and when done, usually the same. full strngth, then 9-10 at the end.
