What lighting do you use? How high off of the water is it?

Very nice. Would you mind giving a quick rundown of your setup? Lighting, skimmer, filtration, etc.

Nice tank Tom! Can you tell me how close that hammer (frogspawn - not sure) coral is to your mushroom leather? I ask because I have a spot for one close to mine, but I'm not sure if it is enough space between them.

Sure my lighting is a bit of a mix as I started with a coral life compact fluorescence with 4 65 watt bulbs. I felt that to be too little and added a bar of 5t with two 50 watt bulbs. I use half actinic and half 10k. The lights are on the short stands that they came with. I have a sump refugium that I built in a 20 long which has a compartment for a pura pad and a place for a fair amount of Ehime "coco puffs" I set that upo so I could pull them out and rinse out detritus every so often. then the water passes into a lighted refugium where I have macro alga and a hob skimmer. its a remora pro with rio pump. Then over some baffles and back to the tank it goes. Along the way there is a shunt to a chiller/heater. I supplement with tow little fishes two part and I add carbonate buffer and calcium chloride to top off water to save some money on the two part which also has mg++ and trace elements as well. I keep calcium as close to 400 as I can and dk at 10. I started the tank with mostly base rock and added a few pieces of live rock. by the looks of things now it is all live rock.

When the leather and the hammer are fully open they are about an inch apart. they dont seem to bother each other but as they both grow I will probably move one.

how about maintenance...ie....water change frequency and it is made of NSW? TIA

I change 10 gallons every week and clean out the skimmer and remove some growth from the fuge. All fairly standard stuff. I use Reef crystals and Di Water that I make at home.

thanks I work hard on it. I am thinking about adding a phosban reactor to see if I can cut doen on that red slime which I always have a little of hanging around
