Does anyone have a white faced tang in any of there tanks. My local fish store has a good sized one in there 1000 gallon tank and it is simply stunning. And the also have one in for sale that is a little smaller and almost has all its adult colors.

Are you talking about Acanthurus japonicus?

They can be aggressive to new acatherus tangs.. They are not as aggressive as the orange shoulder tang.. Like most acantherus tangs the look better as they get older I have 4 in my display now.. They do look nicer as the get older also known as the Pale Lipped tang..

Do a quick google search on either Acanthurus japonicus, or Acanthurus nigricans. Most likely the tang will be one of those, but there are many so called "white face" tangs.
If the fish is A. japonicus it is pretty easy to keep, but A. nigricans is fairly difficult to find a healthy specimen and keep it healthy.

Ah, that would be the not so common Acanthurus leucocheilus, more commonly known as the Pale Lipped Tang....The one they had on DD was very pale compared to this one....But this is what the fish in your pic is. The one Blue Zoo uses is a really bad pic.

You can see that are not cheap....I would make sure on what it is though.

Hmmm. I thought I posted on this but????
I have a white face and it looks just like the pic from liveaquaria. I got it from a local reefer b/c it was picking on his Niger trigger. He is in my 180 with 3 other tang (lemonpeel, blue hippo, and sailfin). He is a model citizen and great to watch...
