So at some point in the not so distant future, I think it would be fun to have a shark tank in the basement. I picture maybe a tank sitting right on the cement floor, approx 12 x 6 x 3 feet, made out of cement with a glass viewing panel on the front.

Can anyone estimate how much this would cost, not including the supporting equipment (pumps, skimmers etc)?

Just tank? Concrete work and glass. Not much more than a couple g's DIY. The supporting equipment many many more g's. Salt, power consumption, food, evap dehumidifier etc. etc. etc. more and more g's

I would buy a large circular pool or livestock feeding tank. I have seen people with a 6 ft nurse

is the shark gonna have a freakin laser beam on it`s head? or is that too much to ask for

sorry also- eznet2u made me do it

i think to do it well would cost 5,000 for a nice looking tank that size, if your not a concrete diy`er

I couldn't see it costing near as much as the super sized reef tanks do. The most expensive piece would probably be the viewing window, especially if you can DIY the concrete work.
