the t-5 has a higher par reading but I have not done a lux reading on depth my 265 has t`12 and 75 has t-5 . as for temp believe it or not they run about the same the t-5 was a little hotter .I used a temp gun to check .I kinda like the t-12 becouse the tank is 7' wide and I use less bulbs than t-5 .

thats awesome ... at what depth did u stop reading PAR? 24" ? i unfortunately have a 42" deep tank but no room above for MH so going with an eight bulb t5 ... but was thinking maybe the VHO might have more penetration ... only gonna be a softie tank as is ...

Is it an optical illusion ? That tank doesn't look almost 4 ft deep.... or did you mean 24" deep ?

its 22 inches deep but 42 inches tall i should be standing next to it for reference, felix ...

thanks, mr chris, that would be awesome ... this is definitely gonna be an personal experiment in PAR values.... there is also southern facing exposure about 20 feet south of the tank so hopefully that will provide some light too
