I transferred some LR from my 54 to my 90 and my pinkbar goby decided to hitch a ride in the rock. This would normally not bother me but the 90 is home to an ornery fimbriated eel. Goby figured this out quick and somehow squeezed into the overflow which is quite inaccessible. Anyone have any tricks on how to get him out of there? Nets won't fit, tried barbless hooks- no luck. Is he doomed?

small net worked for me when my flame hawk jumped in the overflow.

Keep trying with a net. I had to fish a 6" angel out of an overflow and it was not pretty :-/

Can you turn off your pumps and disconnect your plumbing in the overflow and send the guy on a little ride to the sump?

+1 was thinking along those lines also.

Cas has the right idea. If possible just put a net where the sump drains and remove the durso/drainpipe if you have one and it will suck the fish right down into the net.
