Ok so I just got a system from a friend that is going thourgh a divorce. It is a 200 gallon square tank Stand and Top. It came with an Aqua Euro Usa Classic 400. I read it is for a 400 gallon system. It also came with a Coralife Turbo-Twist UV Sterilizers, 12x: 36 watt, treats up to 500 gallon saltwater or freshwater aquariums. I am worried that I will over skim and over UV sterilizer. Is there such a thing? I dont want to kill the corals.

It also came with a sump and motor and fish, coral, rocks, and 4 Metal Halide 250 watt Hamilton lights.

I just want to know if I leave the skimmer on can I over skim my tank with Aqua Euro Usa Classic 400 and is that bad?
What about the uv Sterilizer can it hurt running that big of a UV.

the aqua euro 400 has had some hype about its performance. It will definetly perform well for the money its worth, is it going to be better than a euro reef or another high end skimmer, no. It does do a good job for the price, it is probably large enough to work well with your system. One thing you will want to check is to open the pump hosings for the recirc pumps and make sure that they are not rusted out. This was a problem on the younger gen of this skimmer but has been fixed, or atleast the manufacturer said it was fixed las time i check up on it.

+1 to blktang,

IMO UV sterilizers are only good for quarantine tanks and hospital tanks.
