Get a long glass or jar and place it in the tank at the bottom resting on a high angle against your rock. Place a chunk of Silver Side in the bottom of the glass/jar. Usually overnight the shrimp can't resist the temptation for a free meal and will climb inside the glass/jar. Unfortunately, the slippery sides of the glass will contain him as they can't climb back out. Remove the glass and you're good to go! Works like a charm...especially with crabs as well.

Shrimp can swim, I can't see how that works. You would have to do the inverted bottle top trap to keep him in the trap. You know where you cut the funnel section off a plastic bottle and glue it on so the top is upside down in the bottle.

Any meaty bait will do. My shrimp love cut up raw shrimp from the grocery store.
