I have a juvenile Dejardini Tang in my 210 mixed reef with a school of green Chromis and 3 firefish. I feed the tank frozen Cyclopeze, PE Mysis, New Life Spectrum Pellets and Formula 2 Flake as well as Ocean Nutrition sheet algae supplemented with garlic. All food is soaked in Selcon prior to feeding. The tang has shown no interest in the pellets or flakes but is aggressively eating everything else and I recently noticed that some of the pores around the Dejardini's eyes are starting to show what I think is the beginning of HLLE and I want to stop it from progressing. I have been running GAC in a reactor and recently stopped running it in case that is the issue. I also run GFO in a reactor, could fine particulate matter from the GFO reactor be a potential culprit? Also could the change in the pores be part of the tang maturing into its adult coloration? I will try to take some pictures tonight and post them. Thanks in advance!
