View Full Version : tiny "duster" hitchhiker id please

It hitched on my torch coral. It's a tiny dusterworm type of thing. I see white feather coming out of a little tube every couple of seconds and retracting. Any ideas?

Sounds like a barnacle of some kind.

Could be a feather duster, a pic would help too if you want a 100% positive ID.

unfortunatly it's too small to show up on my pictures when I say tiny I mean pencil lead tiny. It does look like a barnacle. Are they harmful?

Feathers (worms) are very beneficial and if they proliferate that is a good sign of a healthy tank.

I'm thinkinnts a barnacle. I swear the onlu time I see these things are when they hitchhike on a torch coral. Almost like a parasite lol. I dot think they are harfull other than their little fingers that go in and out may irritate your coral. Other than that they don't seem to cause problems
