Pocillopora is growing everywhere in my tank. Does anybody have a suggestion for getting rid of it? Is there a fish or invert that likes to eat it?

Haha, it is taking up valuable real estate :). Growing everywhere from my overflow to various LR and on my power heads.

maybe break it off at the base and then smear some kalk paste on the base

I have the same problem in my tank. Dont know how it happened but all the sudden it started growing all over my rock, return nozzles, overflows, everywhere. I gave away my big colony so it wont spread anymore. I tried to break it off the overflow and other places but it is impossible to get rid of it completely. I think I am going to cover it up with some aquamend till it dies.

I bought a small frag this year and have prob. 15 daughter colonies. It'd awesome that it grows well but I agree, it's a nuisance. I'm gonna break off pieces and trade or sell them if possible with the warning of how aggressive it grows.

As was mentioned above break it off as close to the base as possible then burn the snot out of the area that is left via a kalk paste or cover the area completely with super glue gel or putty.

lol - you call your local reefers to come over and get free frags.
I got a large frag (free) the other day and the guy said - DO NOT blame me if in a few years your tank is overrun (as his was, and yours apparently is).
I am taking notes in case it ever gets out of control in my tank. Might put it on an "island" of LR.

Makes great reef rubble if you take it out and dry it dead.

start offering free frags, or frags for a dollar, all you can take. you'll probably be out in no time.
Asfur Angel! Mine took about 48 hours to destroy a colony the size of a volleyball.
Never touched another coral in my tank for the 4 years I had that fish... My guess is Pocillopora tastes good.

I have the same problem... mine are a LOT smaller than the ones in the pics, but I'm trying to kill them off. Pocci = PITA!
Oh what he would give for PEFW (Pocci eating flat worms)

Putting it on an island will do you no good. It spreads via the water column.

Send some to me! I'll be more than happy to take some off your hands.

I took my mother colony in yesterday and got 40$ credit for it. Piece was the size of a man's fist.
