I was wanting to know what is the purpose of a calcium reactor. What does it do. What are the benefits from it. Lastly is it a nessecity? Thank you to all who help answer all my questions on this. I hope to clearly understand it.

It is one of many possible ways to supply calcium and alkalinity.

wow, that a great read, i bookmarked it for future reference. IMO a calcium reactor is a way to keep the balance of KH an CAL in check. Once your levels are where you want them in the tank you have to tune the reactor to keep the levels there W/O dropping the PH below 8. Can be tricky but worth it IMO
