Ok so my question is the same as my title, 'How many fish can i keep' well how many fish can my dad keep seeing as how its his tank...

Currently my dad has:
2 lyretail anthais
2 blood shrimp
1 (2inch) blue tang
1 (almost 2 inch) yellow tang
3 clams (2 small and 1 medium)
Majority SPS but mixed nevertheless

My dads set up:
90G tank
pretty full of rocks lol maybe 100lbs or so not sure (ill put up a pic if u want)
Deltec MCE-600 hang-on protein skimmer
Red Sea Prizm hang-on protein skimmer
Hang on refugium (pretty much full of cheatos, copepods, fireworms etc)
Fluval 405
Fluval 505
0.75 inch sand bed
3 months old

Fish planning on getting
-Mystery Wrasse (planning on getting for his upcoming birthday)
-Flame Wrasse (planning on getting for his upcoming birthday)
The above two are going in regardless
-Pair of Onyx clowns
-Peppermint Hogfish
-Male Lyretail Anthais
-maybe 2-3 other wrasse

I sure that i wont be able to fit all these guys into the tank but i want to know how many and which are good candidates to go in.

Thanks.

I would not add a male anthias, just add another and let one change. Also I would not add a mystery wrasse with a flame wrasse they can be aggressive, and I especially wouldn't add the hogfish later because the mystery wrasse probably won't like fish similar to it being added after it is established, so I would reconsider your regardless statement.

I would stick with the flame wrasse, maybe a harem and get some other fairies or flashers that are compatible. Some of the wrasse experts can help you with compatibility.

The clowns are a solid choice too.

The blue tang will get too big for that tank, but there is time, but I would be planning how you are going to get it out, because once corals grow in it can be tough. Another thing many of them although they are being kept in large tanks just look weird after a while, I don't know if they are cramped or what (bradleyj's is one I remember distinctly) but 90 gallons is too small.

I would seek out some different anthias species you like or he likes too. What about some threadfin cardinalfish (Apogon leptacanthus)? A group would look stunning.

Maybe a pair of dwarf angels?

sorry tcmfish and nikon i went out and got both the flame and mystery. The mystery was slightly smaller than the flame. Strangely it didnt show any aggression in the tank or the bucket i was keeping them in for 5 minutes and when i put it in the tank it had the most blank face lol. Ill try to post pics of them soon probably tomorrow.

So ok i guess ill go with the clowns and skip the peppermint

Hmm not a real fan of cardinals maybe other anthais might be a good idea

Idk about the drawfs my main concern is if there ok with my corals i have a good mix?

dwarf angels? some have sucess with them and corals, I didn't. So far i have tried a flame and a potters and both eventually ate LPS. ( mostly brains, scolys, acans, chalice, all the nice ones) Mystery wrasses usually aren't bad at first, it's when they get established and bigger then they become a problem. ( not always though) Would love to see pics

Be sure your skimmer and other filtration can handle the larger load too!
