I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. I added a second EB8 to the Apex, and at first everything was fine. All the new outlets were showing up, and I started programming one. I realized I made a mistake (I’m no Apex wiz) and tried to delete the outlet, had trouble, tried some things to correct them, but couldn’t. Finally, I used Init Memory to start all over. Since then, the second EB8 does not show up at all. I’ve tried rebooting, disconnecting and unplugging everything, etc, but still can't get it recognized by the system. The status light on both EB8’s is green. Suggestions?

Thanks.

Should be easy to recover from...

More for informational than anything else; you can't delete an outlet on an EB8; EB8 (and other AquaBus devices) are added automatically; like plug-and-play on the PC.

The easiest method will be to perform an init Modules; unplug the new EB8 (or you might find your program for the 1st EB8 moves to the new one) and perform an init modules. You might need to power cycle the Apex in order to force it to probe for devices (the display and EB8). Once this completes, and the 1st EB8 is shown you can plug in the new EB8 and it should be probed within a few minutes. If you have no programming done then you can leave both EB8s connected and do the init modules as above.

Ken, thanks for the reply. I'm still having trouble, which I'm still assuming is user error. I've tried several times to init modules, init outlets, init all, powering off, etc. I even applied the latest beta firmware upgrade, which didn't help, and now went back to the official 4.0 release.

This has now happened twice in the last couple of days – I reset everything with just the original EB8 and display module connected. Everything is fine and the EB8 shows up as addr 003. I program my outlets (only using 2 at the moment). Several hours later I notice that the second EB8 mysteriously reappears – even though it is not connected to the system. Not only that, but it remaps original EB8 to addr 004 and the non-existent EB8 is addr 003, wiping out my programs.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
