Any ideas on wha to do with a hippo tand with hole in the head. I have no stray voltage and I feed a mixture of food (he eats pellets soaked in selcon). None of the other fish in the tank have any signs of this disease including a number of tangs. The only thing I can think of is that my nitrates (30+ppm) are higher than I would like. He has gon from a baby hippo about the size of a nickel to a sub-adult about 4 inches. Gets planty of Nori and has no problems eating pellots, mysis, formula 2, ...

Any help would be approeciated.

Thanks

Since you seem to be providing the correct types of food it is definitely not a dietary condition. Sometimes they can accquire HLLE from stress in a small aquarium, but I dont know what size tank you have. As far as reversing the damage adding garlic to the diet can help, and there are medication they might help in reversing the damage. I know my answer may not be the best of help, but I did succed in reversing damage from a blue tang, but it was tied to a dietary issue unlike yours.
