Well I wrote earlier about a brain coral that had started bleaching and wondered what to do about it. Guess I can use it as a frisbee now that its gone. Amazing how fast it bleached out, no more than four days and it was mostly white. I also thought it was hurting neighboring corals particularly my cynarina only a few inches away.
My theory on the bleaching is that it was caused by a reduction in the amount i've been feeding the fish. As a result, a flame angel and a tang started picking at the coral and stressed it to the point of bleaching. Once it started, I had no idea how to stop it, although I did move it to a higher flow area.
Just another sad but important lesson for me and anyone reading this post.
