I have a 6 month old mrc 1 and have not touched it. How often should it be cleaned should I replace the media or just clean the pump? I have not had a problem with my calcium levels but it seems that the media is not dissolving as fast as it used to maybe I should just be happy about that.

Your supposed to clean these????????????

Sorry just joking. I clean mine out every 18 months or so when I take the media out and rinse it and add more.

Whenever I need to add more media I clean it which is typically every 8-10 months.
