t5 fixture and light spilage?

I am seriously considering doing a rimless peninsula at the end of my couch but I am worried about light blaring into my eyes. Is there any fixture better than the other to help me fight against this? I was considering doing a hanging canopy but I will still have light shinning into my eyes because I will have to look up from the couch.

U might want to consider a makeshift strip with tape: pick the duct (or similar) tape of the same color as the fixture and put together couple of strips... use aluminum (reflective) tape on the inside. If you do it right it will look good... just make sure u have enough space left around for ventilation.
