I'm going to be creating a stand for an in wall setup. For now its going to be just a 65 gal (reef ready) but will be getting a 120gal later on next year.

Just would like some ideas or even pictures of how your in wall stand is constructed.

Thanks much!

Just a simple 2x frame is all you need. You can build hte front portion into the wall, just as you would frame a window.

That was gonna be my suggestion. I almost tackled a project like this with my 180, and it wouldn't have been a lot more work, but i didn't think about it until about a week after I drilled 4 holes in the back. If I would have thought about it sooner I would have drilled the side and it wouldn't have been a problem!!

This is tha almost finished look, now it is stained the color of the wall. All trimmed out. Oh and there is NO center brace in the doors.

In the previous pic u can see the closet to the right, i made a 4" hole threw the wall and put my calcium reactor, chiller and ATO in there. I leave the doors closed. In the roof of the closet i put a fart fan for a bathroom that vents the heat from the chiller to the attic. COOL HUH!!! Also you can see the cut out below the doors, There is a 6" gap behind tank to the rear of the wall. The Fans in the canopy draw air from the floor across the sump and up behind the tank and out the top of the canopy, this cools the 400w MH/ 8 bulb T5 fixture/ and 2 24" VHO superactinics. ALSO COOL HUH!!! i thought about this alot b4 i built. The fans are controlled by a RKL as well as lights. They are icecaps fans with variable thermostate speed. WOW another cool thing. not only dor they spin slower at cooler temp and faster at higher but the RKL only runs one fan below 79.5 degrees and both fans above. CRAZY HUH

I just built the stand into the framing. I will attempt to add photos! Can't promise anything. You could always give me your e-mail for them.

Just want to free up some space in that room. I have 2 kids, 8 months and a 2 1/2 year old. Do you have any beck end shots after setup?

Looks real nice Bean!
