I am setting up a 120 Oceanic tech. 48X24X24 I am running 2X 250w MH. Sunlight Supply Galaxy Ballast. I would like to put 2 T5 in the front and 2 in the back for a total of 4. IYO What is one of the nicest T5 Retro's and where to get them for a good price. I am only using them for Actinic use, My MH's are 10k

Check out Reef Geek, I'd just go with Item #: IC0047, unless you want to overdrive (not needed) then go with the version with the Icecap ballast. Also, rather than actinics I'd suggest getting ATI Blue + bulbs, more par and won't be as easily overhwelmed by the MH's.

by AquaIllumination 3 blue plus bulbs and 1 fiji purple.

+3 on Reefgeek. My retro will be here tomorrow. I ordered the Aqua kit because of the Miro reflectors. The only difference with the NO IceCap kit is the reflectors I believe, they are slightly different. The VHO kits come with the Icecap Ballast for the overdrive part but both NO kits come with the Advanced Accustart Ballast.

A little late but DIY reef has the aquactinics reflectors for $12, I think they have 39 watt and 54 watt, they are out of business tomorrow at noon.

Too late, but i like dealing with ReefGeeks. They talked me through the whole process for about 45min. Paying extra is definately worth peoples time these days. It almost seems as though everything is automated or just send an e mail and we will respond. I like the 1 on 1. Thanks for all of the thoughts. Do you think the 10k's are going to make it too white or will the T5 bulbs i have selected give me some nice color.

It will look great! I have a 2 x 175 plus 2 x 39 aquactinics fixture (the t5's do not have individual reflectors). I am running 10k coralvue mh's, 1 39 watt UVL super actinic and 1 39 watt UVL actinic white (similar to the figi). I like the look a lot and can definitly tell when the t5's are on. You have better t5 reflectors, more bulbs and stronger blue bulbs so I think it will give it a nice color.

Greg at reefgeek is great to work with.
