Can Sand Flounders be kept safely in a reef? Will one fit in in a 125 gallon tank? I have seen some for sale, and they say monitor with shrimp, just curious what the forum thinks. thanks

About five years ago I caught a flounder. Probably around 8" long. I threw him in a 30g tank and kept him for about 2 weeks. I could hand feed him finger mullet. He was really cool but I knew he would grow to about 28" long so I took him back to the gulf.

Here's a vid I found with a few sand flounders in a tank.

they are ambush predators and will eat anything they can fit in their mouths...motile inverts and small fish.

As mentioned above - they grow big so unless you plan on big tank...i'd skip the fish. (of course this doesn't take into consideration you are planning on raising it big to eat later).
