i am looking to add a chaoti wrasse to my tank i really want to make this wrasse survive and thrive need some tips also what wrasses should i stay away from with this wrasse.

Are you familiar with the leopard wrasses? They have some unique demand such as deep sand. If the chain of custody was poor, they have a bleak survival rate since most of them beat themselves nearly to death trying to hide in the sand and hitting a bare bottom. If you find a good specimen, then they stand a much better chance.

If you have never owned one before, I might suggest an easier specimin (easier because Hawaii is closer than Africa and likely has a better chain of custody) like a potters.

I agree with JDA. However, the odds of success are nearly zero with this fish. I have one now for four months, but it is the rare exception rather than the rule. Mine is with fairy and flasher wrasses as well as other leopard wrasses.

I had mine for a couple of months before I added a sick wrasse, and it killed about 10 of my wrasses.
