I picked up a 2fishies Phosban Reactor awhile ago and plan on installing. I was wondering where the best placement of the reactor should be.

1) From DT - Reactor - Filter Sock - Skimmer - Return to DT
2) From DT - Filter Sock - Reactor - Skimmer - Return to DT
3) From DT - Filet Sock - Skimmer - Reactor - Return to DT

Thanks in advance for your input.

I've always used the 3rd option with good success. Definitely want the skimmer to get a shot at the water first.

Option 3 is what I use. Return the effluent from the reactor to the display tank.

Number 3 is how mine is set up also. I figure it will also help keep stuff out of the reactor pump.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but what if we have a fuge? Could it be:

Filter sock - Skimmer - Fuge - Reactor - Return

or

Filter sock - Skimmer - Reactor - Fuge- Return

Which one would work better? I'm assuming option 2, but want to double check

I simply have mine hanging on my sump. The reactor supply pump is located near my display retun pump and the reactor discharges into the sump baffles.

My system: The display tank flows split between my refuge and my sump. The sump flows go to the 1st chamber with my skimmer, then through the baffles to the return pump/reactor pump chamber, then back to display tank. The refuge flows go to the sump baffles, to the return pump/reactor pump chamber, then back to display. If this makes any sense.

Actually the first one. You want the reactor after is done filtering to return that water to the display tank.
