I'm very new to saltwater aquariums and I have a quick question. If my canopy is low is it ok to use 2x70w metal halide at 3-4" above the water as opposed to getting a new canopy to house 2x150W at 8" above the water? I have a 48x16x17 tank and don't plan on keeping an LPS or SPS. Thanks for your advice.
