Hello all:
Just yesterday I added 4 female lyretail anthias to my tank. They're all about the same size, and at this point I can't see which one might be dominant.
Does anyone have a feel for how long it might take to start seeing one of them changing into a male, and about how long the process might take?
We're all excited to see this happen, especially my 9 year old daughter, for her it's like a marine biology experiment in our family room!

Anywhere from 3 weeks to a couple months. It won't happen until it needs to happen.

I think mine started in about 3 months. It's been over a year now and he's still not finished.here's a picture taken about a month ago . I don't think he's ever going to completely change.

It varies, not sure on what. When I bought three females I kept them in QT for a month and then added them to display, they didnt start changing or anything in QT. Then again, a few years later, when my male started to go downhill, the dominant female started changing within 2 days and was completely visually changed within a week.
