After wearing out the search button and of course the input I received here I'm going to give this a shot. Its going to be a long night.

a sump/fuge is actually pretty easy to build. Its also so much better to build one than buy one, that way you can design it exactly how you want it.

Naw, will only take a few minutes, that's all the time the silicone is going to allow you..... :D

The only part that was difficult was getting the silicone in between the baffles!! A little tricky, but easy DIY and a good money saver.

How big a tank is that? Skimmer size? I am about to start a build as well. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. It was actually pretty easy. I wish I would have thought to cut some wood spacers for the bubble trap. I used 1" roles of tape at the last minute instead. It doesn't look great but for my first sump and the money I'll be able to put towards other components it will be fine.

Old Nemo that tank is a 30 gallon (36x13x16) Skimmer is an SWC 200

POST COUNT PADDING ARE YOU?!?:thumbdown You know, some of us put a lot of time and energy into this site. I have absolutely no say so, but if I did, I would roll your post count back to 9-27-09, it was sometime after that, that you discovered you could no longer take advantage of perks that come with participation on the site.

Regards,

Jim

I've been thinking of a DIY sump for some time for my 75G, I've taken note of the wooden spacers... any tricks to getting the silicone in place for the baffles? are there any hose/tube adapters for the silicone dispensers?

I'll be using it for a 75. Water tested tonight. No leaks! :bounce1: Now onto plumbing later this week.
