What is the ocean's volume? I just want to run a small experiment here as to what people think the volume is, so please don't google :) I will post the answer in a bit.

No idea, but I've often wondered...but never googled it for some reason. I'm sure the answer will make even the biggest tank look like a nano.
*Edit* okay, just googled it...that's a lot of zeros.
I also have no idea but since you told me not to google it i felt compelled to

Haha, at least make a guess before you google (but don't post the answer) :)

You want it in cubic kilometers, cubic miles or cubic centimeters? Ok, I will shut up cause I know this.

Oh finally somebody guessed! Needless to say, you are far. One of the biggest indoor tanks in the world (the Whale Shark tank at the GA Aquarium) has 6 million gallons, so I think gallons may not be the best unit to guess :)

Since most people here are from the US let's make it cubic miles. Here is a clue:
1 cubic mile = 1,101,117,147,429 gallons
So, how many cubic miles in the oceans?

Naw I want others to suffer till you tell them. I will say it increases by around 1 cubic meter per year.....

Alright, that is close enough :) the answer is:
322,280,000 cubic miles
That is a lot of water!

Approximately 322 million cubic miles, now try converting it to gallons:
1 cubic mile = 1,101,117,147,429 gallons
Mind blowing

Is that just Ocean?SW?
Yes, just salt water, here is a break down (in cubic miles):
Oceans, Seas & Bays-----------------------322,000,000
Ice caps, Glaciers, & Permanent Snow-----5,773,000
Groundwater (50% salty)-------------------5,614,000
Soil Moisture---------------------------------3,959
Ground Ice & Permafrost--------------------71,970
Lakes (50% of the lakes are salty)---------42,320
Atmosphere----------------------------------3,095
Swamp Water--------------------------------2,752
Rivers-----------------------------------------509
Biological Water------------------------------269
Total------------------------------------------332,500,000
So, about 97% of the water on earth is salt ocean water. Makes you realize how precious potable water really is...

That is just the ocean, but the ocean is ~97% of the water on the planet. The rest is ground water, ice, rivers and lakes.
The "skimmers" of the oceans are called estuaries.
