MP40: Just like the title says:

It is kinda hard to tell from the pic, but that flat metal piece is warped from heat...Suggestions?

That's a GEN 1 magnet. I would replace it. The new one is covered with plastic.

Maivortex, do you care to elaborate?

I remove it once every two months to clean it. What else should I be doing?

Maivortex- I don't think it's worth getting into it with brian about how often he does or doesn't clean his pump. Brian's pump is a very early generation and he's clearly had it for some time.

Brian- you're cleaning schedule is perfectly acceptable.
