I wanted to use some sort of plastic bin for my fuge, but I'm not sure what to use. Some of them seem flimsy I and wouldn't want it to break or bend. I'm only looking for something around 10-30g (bigger the better just has to fit in my closet lol). Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Any food-safe plastic container will work.

Rubbermaid - That way you know what it is.

rubbermaid is safe to use, but probably will bend. Just make some kind of support for the middle top and you should be fine. for the price you can try looking on craigslist for a crappy tank. I just got a scratched up 40gallon acrylic tank for $40. got my next fuge

I know there are a lot of folks that use the rubbermaid containers, but personally they scare me. They really seem to bend and flex under the pressure of the water.

I would look around for someone local to you that might be selling a 20 or 30 gallon glass tank, check your local forums, or your LFS or even look on Craigs list. I bet you could find one for right around the same price as a rubbermaid.

HTH

Good luck

What kind of place could I go to, to drill a glass tank though? I figured it'd be easy to do it with a rubbermaid so that's why I thought they would be a better choice.

Enjoy

Search for an old cheap scratched up acrylic tank.
Cheap, and install bulkheads no problem.

Rubbermaid is waaaayyyy too flimsy for me. :thumbdown

I know of people who have used BRUTE containers from rubbermaid and found them to leach phosphates into the water. I would probaly err on the side of caution and go for a used acrylic or glass tank instead

Check with one of the LFS in your area or check the local club forums for you area and see if anyone can drill glass for you. Or you can call a glass shop and ask them about it.

Its really easy and more guys than you think have glass hole saw bits. I have drilled dozens of them

Good luck

If you're planning on putting bulkheads on, rubbermaid may have too much flex to allow for a watertight connection.

Go with a cheapo acrylic tank.
