I too have had good luck with both in several mixed reefs I have had.

Give em time. Hope you are remain lucky. If you spot feed your corals they will eventually learn to steal food from the corals, and then often make the jump to eating the corals themselves. Have heard it and seen it over and over.

I have both peppermints and cleaner shrimps in a mixed reef. There was one night where I saw the peppermints banging away on some mushrooms and they totally destroyed one and detached another one from the rock. That one has since found another area, reattached and is doing good. That was the only time I've seen them touch any coral.

Oh, forgot to add that the cleaner shrimp wants absolutely nothing to do with the peppermints. He will actively chase them away from whatever area he is in.

They should have no problem in that tank size. Plenty of room for both. Just make sure there is lots of hiding places and you're good to go

I have personally had a peppermint eat my acans. Fortunately he met an untimely demise before he could do any more damage.

Looks like we have mixed opinions on this one, but I can tell you that I have three Pepermints, and a skunk cleaner in my 75g mixed reef tank and have had no problems at all. The Pepermints took care of my Aptasia problem in a few days, and have never caused any trouble at all. My cleaner does just that. He set up a cleaner station, and goes to work on any of my fish that stop by.
Incidently, I also have a Coral Banded Shrimp in my tank as well. None of the shrimp in my tank have bothered any of my sps, lps, Leathers, Shrooms, or Zoas.

Hope this helps.

you might be thinking of the camel back shrimp instead of the pep shrimp.. the camel back's look very similar and they will eat your corals...

+1 on the spot feeding problem...

I did have to get rid of a Sun Coral because of the 2 peps. I would even put a dome over the sun coral at feeding time and they would burrow under it to get at the food. My peps never miss feeding time!! LOL!! they both come out and swim around on their backs waiting for the food to drop.

So if you need to spot feed specific corals, they will most likely be a nuisance.

I had both in my tank. But the peppermint started to eat my bubble coral. So the peppermint shrimp live in my sump now.

You have an alibi for that date and time? :p
