put the small end of the bulkhead on the tank,& trace it with a sharpee.Thats how i did lotsa tanks before.

For a 1" bulkhead you need a hole 1-3/4" to 2-1/4". I use a 2" hole saw for mine.

it depends on the bulkhead. Do you have the smaller black plastic ones or the gray SCH 80 Hayward bulkheads

Another tip, I find that a electric drill is more suited for drilling glass. They do not have as much torque in comparison to a cordless in my experience.

I use 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" or 45 mm

A standard wood hole saw bit will work great

Thanks Spleify.. I wont be drilling glass its a poli tub for frags.. The bulk head is the black schdl 40 type. The biy I have just barley fits over the outside of the bulkhead.
