Ok I know its what I like but trying to see whats out there w/ pics I was thinking some branching coral. I think I wanted to put very little rock in but like a cave stack w/ a shelf floating off the stack then some on the floor of the tank then some type of flat rock wall on back of tank to put stuff there to. There is so much coral out there and they very so much not sure on corals w/ extreme polp ext so they look like a shag rug I want to so color. I like some deep water, and tri colors are nice and some encrusting corals I had red planet didnt do much for me but it was small . Looking for pics w/ names. But looking good so far I will have to look some of those up thanks guys keep them coming.:thumbsup:

With a limited number of corals I would strive for contrast of colors.

These are the corals that pop in my tank.

Setosa - orange
Sunset monti - yellow
Bonsai - purple
ORA Birdsnest - green
Green slimer
ORA blue tort
Pearlberry -white
Yellow tort

if you want some red as well then I would add a Red Planet

Ok so I was thinking something like this something blue then green then lime which I'm leaning on lime in the sky a yellow thinking yellow stinger, think its a deep water then orange a red and then purple, purple garf bonzi, then I know you guys dont want to read this but adding some soft and lps to the tank and want to go w/ oppsite color on other stuff. So blue on one side and yellow in the middle and purple on the other side, so like a color wheel and then reverse it w/ softies or zoas. I saw some post on bonzi rock work and it looked good just not sure on the other corals .

tas5tas
11/27/2009, 05:43 PM
If you mix all the colors in together you will have more contrast and they will actually help each other stand out.......If you try to fade colors from one side of the tank to the other they will all blend in and will look drab IMO.

Just my $.02

the greenish blue one in the frst pic is supposed to be a dustin's. i doesnt have any branches yet, but does have little nubs. the parent colony it came from had smaller, skinny branches on it.

Rare coral is all relative to how much money someone is trying to make by hyping up their corals. I just like colorful corals and cool growth patterns.
Thank You for the compliments though :)
