My LR has been in three bins for the last three months with pumps and heaters, I've changed the water a couple of times but I mostly add top off. My 125 DT is just about ready - sump(75 gal) and refugium(40 gal) are all done and plumbing installed (no leaks). The challenge now is getting sand and rock into the DT. My RO/DI is 75 gal per day. Can I fill my DT(125 gal) 1/3- 1/2 and add my sand and rock? Can the LR do well in room temperature water 68-70 deg for a day or two?

I figure it's going to take 3 days to make 180 gal of water.

Why cant you simply put a heater in the DT with maybe a PH until you have enough water?
