I was about to spring for the JBJ 28 with the led's but found this locally and need your opinions on it. As for the brands of the accessories I am not sure but here is a list of what it has: 200 watt lamp, skimmer, heater, seperate quarantine tank, live rock, live sand, four clown fish, ritteri anemone(clarkii hosting), bulb tip anemone, cleaner shrimp, HOB filter. It also has all the chemicals, extra frozen food, salt, plus other stuff I cant remember. I know it is hard to put a price on it but what would you think its worth? One thing I wasnt sure about was how every other SW tank I have seen had bright vibrant colors why wouldnt this one be like that? It has PC lighting? If I changed to T5's would that help? If so is that just a bulb change or do I have to change ballast also? Here is a couple pics I took of it. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

There's a lot of work to be done there. I would recommend the JBJ.
Do you know the person that has that tank? It looks very recently thrown together with a bunch of leftovers to me.

What kind of work does it need? Please go into a little detail as I am new to this. The owner says it is about 2 YO.

By the look of the substrate I believe that is has been set up for a while
as far as the colors the lighting is a big factor as well as the types of coral

Is it worth $500? I figured if I was to buy the JBJ 28 LED I would still have to invest another $500 at least to get it to this status. So that would be $1000 for the 28G I dont care if I had to invest another $500 into this one I would have a better tank I would think. Am I wrong?

Is it worth $500, maybe. Thats kinda pushing it if you ask me. There are so many things that I would have done differently, its hard to say. I guess that stuff is worth it, I just wouldn't have set it up that way, but thats just me. If that was the way you wanted your tank then yes it is probably worth $500.

Here is my breakdown of its worth:
Tank $50
extra tank, what size? $10-50 depending
Skimmer- depends on brand and model, maybe $50 at most
heater $10
Rock $1.50/lb a great deal and $3/lb not so great, how much is there?
Sand $.50/lb
All the livestock, maybe $100 or so.
lights, what kind? how long have they been running? maybe $50 maybe more depending on answers to ?'s

This is just my opinion. Personally, to me its worth maybe $200-300 just because there is sooo much there that I would change. HTH some, Mark

There is about 45 lbs of rock. As for the lights I am going to go ahead and search for more lights for it. T5's. I am not sure what the brand of lights they are.
