Next week I will be picking up an Onyx Perc to pair up with my Ocellaris. The Ocellaris I currently have was the male in the pair until the female jumped. The new onyx will be considerably smaller than the ocellaris I currently have.

Tank is a 29g BC, and the occ. is always in the frogspawn.

Any tips on making the new relationship as smooth as possible?

Just introduce them, only thing i see being a problem is the occ being really territorial over the frogspawn. OTher than that it should go smoothly and if it gets bad just do a small divider so that they can see each other and get use to their presence.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely update this thread once I pick up my Rod's Onyx next week.

I installed a new wall tonight in the back of my cube to prevent anymore jumping. The female jumped into the back chamber of my biocube and got wedged in between my skimmer and the chamber wall, and the worst part is that it is the only place in the overflow where a fish could get stuck and indefinitely die. (literally a 1/2 inch space)
