Bump.
Can someone check out the video and tell me? I don't want to damage the the coral.

The one in your back-right corner looked like a torch, I'd say that was fairly rough for a torch. I had really play around with my rocks and my powerheads to get the flow stepped down for mine. They wave in the current and every now and then get a good ripple through the heads, but that's it. The tentacles should have a fairly plump look to them, so should tissue at the base (should expand over the edge of the skeleton. Hope that helps!

I have it turned off now. I can't rearrange my rock and don't really have any other place to put the K1.
I might get the K nano and hold onto the K1 for a larger tank.

EDIT. Yeah, the torch is in the right rear of the tank.

^^^ +1 Way to much flow.

Can you lower it in the tank?

No, there is no room to lower the K1. I can point it in any direction I want but it still seems to be blowing like a hurricane. Give me a few minutes and I will shoot a video with the K1 and maxi 900 on for a minute and the K1 off and maxi on for one minute. Should give good reference.

I meant lower the coral.

Yeah, I guess I could. Kinda like it there though. It was a blank spot in my tank and the torch filled it up nicely.

Then the nano would be a much better bet.

Yeah, I think so to.
Here's the video.

The K1 has been removed. Thanks for the advice.

like the kiddo in the background. Cute! They are oblivious to what's going on...as far as recording. I have a 2yr, 5 yr, 7yr old :D

Like the tank layout. Seems like the clowns were having a go at the flame hawk.

Yeah, she's 2 1/2. She was feeding me "cookies" off her play plates. Lol. Our 7 year old has his face shoved up into the tv playing video games.

I just added the hawkfish yesterday and the percs are picking on him a bit. Hopefully they will get use to him.

Haha thought SouthPark was on in the background for a second there. Torch looks better with less flow, it should be fine.

Yeah, I think so. I'm going to get the nano and see how that does. If it's still to much then oh well, I'll just use the maxi jet and be done with it. (:

How long had the torch been in that spot before you took the first video? Was it still acclimating to that spot in the tank?

It had only been in the tank for a couple hours.

I think it just needed more time to acclimate to the flow, personally. I have some torches in crazy flow (right downstream of MP40 at 100% reefcrest) and they have great extension with no tissue damage. IME they can handle a lot of flow as long as it's indirect, and where you have the coral placed looks very indirect.

If it were me I'd give it a day or two with the K1 running and just keep a close eye for any signs of damage, and reassess.

it seemed real happy, then again it seems happy now. I did notice a couple tips on the sand bed afterward. I think I'll try the koralia nano. I don't need a whole lot more flow, I just wanted to eliminate some build up on the SB around the rear of the tank. thanks for the advice.
