took out all of the rock to bleach.......i want to keep my fish in the tank until the rock is cleaned and cured(outside of the tank)
question is -- will my tank go into any sort of cycle now that i removed all 100lbs of live rock? the 4 inch sand bed is in tact...tank is 72G
thanks

I do not think that was a good idea with fish in your tank. You need to keep an eye on ammonia and do a lot of water changes until your live rock is re-established IMO. I'm not sure the sand bed alone will provide enough filtration to process ammonia.

my other option is to move the fish to a 33 long for a month (48x12x12) (my frag tank)
it would be 3 flame wrasses, 3 anthias, and 2 clownfish
which is the better option?
and there is only 10lbs or so of liverock in that tank

oh and also-the flame wrasses are already in the frag tank
it is just the 3 anthias and 2 clownfish in the 72G if that matters....

Well, you may be better off leaving them in the 72. Just keep an eye on your ammonia every few days and have some water change water handy if things start looking not so good. You can also keep some Amquel or Prime on hand if levels start to spike.
I would work on getting that rock back in asap. :)

is there anything else i can do ?
i really didnt think that 5 fish in a 72g with no LR would be a big deal but now i am kinda scared

why are you bleaching the rock?
hydriods, bubble algae, red turf, rocks are nasty and leaching phosphates
bleach is already started
anyone else with opinions or ideas please post :p

If the tank doesn't have any filtration, the ammonia level will start to rise as the animals produce it.

the tank still has a very large skimmer, carbon, phosphate reactor, uv sterilizer, cheato
i just threw a 15lb rock that i forgot to throw in the bleach back in the tank too
think im good to go now ?

Maybe setup some bioballs to use in the interim?

I think the fish will do ok in the 72g like others have said. Again just watch the params and have water ready to change out in a hurry just in case.
