Anyone else have these 'flower' looking polyps on their lobos and know what they are?

looks like some type of clove polyp? 8 arms

There are 8 or 9 of these on this coral and they seem to grow completely separately from one another... even up to several centimeters apart. Any guess as to a species or genus?

I dont think that they are cloves, the arms arent feathery. kind of cool though...

I dont think that it is a brown star polyp (polyclavularia violacea) because there is no base 'mat' that they are growing from, the 8 or 9 polyps are separated by 1-5 cm. Also, there is no prominant center of a contrasting color.
Here is a picture of brown star polyps for comparison, any other ideas?
