I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the RS232 cable is a special cable I can get through profiliux or can i use my own cable?
Same goes for L1 L2 L3 L4 cable S1-S4 S5-S8 cable? or can I use a regular LAN line cable?

RS232 - ProfiLux only as the wiring is totally different. Product code - ProfiSer
L port cables - again this is NOT telephone cable or anythign similar, their are specific data lines in the VSL cables.
L port cables codes
VSL-5
YL2-1 splitter
YL2,2.5 splitter
YL2-5 splitter
LAN - yes any shielded LAN cable you can use

I'm not at all familiar with the profilux, and what the various ports mean. I use to own a RKE, and apparently one of the cables went bad. It ruined 80% of my modules 5x PC-4's and 2 SL-1's. Apparently there was nothing in the design to protect my equipment in such a case.
Does profilux protect your modules against a bad cable?
Or could it possibly ruin multiple modules?

Hi
providing you only use GHL manufactured cables there is no chance of this happening.

In regards to the ports here is abreak down.
S1-4 = Digital power bar and dosing pumps
S5-8 = Old style analogue power bars
L1L4 and onwards = 1-10V line ports used for dimmable interfacing for items such as LED effect sticks, Tunze pumps, dimmable ballasts, and others
Level port = 2 x level control interface for auto top off, auto water change, leak alarms.
Temp port = temperature input port
pH, redox cond port = self explanatory
P3 ports that are only on the Profilux 3
PAB ports x 2 = ALL PAB equipment such as new PAB power bars and expansion boxes.
