I have heard they are slow growers. I just got one and wanted more info:bounce3:

Please share your experience with them and where you placed them in your tank (low-med-high light) (low-med-high flow)

Proper lighting, water movement, and water perameters. sps care guidlines apply. Not too difficult of a sps coral.

same thing here... I got mine mid tank under 6 T5's.. grows fast IMO

good to hear mid tank and what kind of flow.

higher flow or moderate flow?

about 20 inches under 400w 20k radiums. med flow. Looks like spspirate's but not as nice :D

Thanks James...Hoeki's are the bomb! Saltywet..lots of crazy flow..and you have to talk to them...like plants..lol:lolspin:

i have mine mid way in a 120 7 bulb t5s AND IS A VERY SLOW GROWER for me

Back a few years ago, when ********** and reefermadness was around...I recall seeing hoekesami's that were much fatter in girth. They also were an oregon blue tort like color. I beleive those were the slow growers.

I wonder if the skinnier ones I am seeing now different than the fatter ones back then?
