I have been having problems in my nano with green water. I was thinking of buying this filter (http://www.marinedepot.com/JBJ_Reaction_4_Stage_Canister_Filter_%2b_UV_Canister_Filters_for_Tanks_Over_100_Gallons-JBJ_Lighting-JB4315-FIFRCFOH-vi.html) to help stop the problem. Correct me if I'm wrong but the uv in the filer should be able to kill the algae in the water. Anyways I was wondering if anyone had used this filter before or could recommend a better way of dealing with the green water. Any input is appreciated. Thanks. :fish1:

Check these first (if you haven't already):
-Test your water from nitrates/phosphates
-how old are your light bulb(s)?

I've had green water problems in the past and my "temporary" solution has been a micron filter with some diatom powder. You only run it for a few hours to polish the water - it clears my 40g in about an hour crystal clear. It usually stays that way for a few weeks, but if you have alot of nutrients in your water it will come back fast...

I have a marineland HOT magnum 250 - it takes some time to setup and get running but it works well.
