I just set up a new frag tank that is hooked into my 400g DT. I want to set the lights up on a reverse light schedule to help with PH drop. But the frag tank is located in the same fish room that the DT tank is which puts off a bunch of light and keeps the DT from being in total darkness for much of the night. The DT with have about 3 hours of total darkness a night.

Anyone see a problem doing this?

Corals need darkness just like light. It depends on how much light is given off from the frag tank. Maybe you could put a curtain of something in between the tanks. Fake tree or something nice?

Yeah, you need to separate with some sort of light shield

yeah after thinking about it the frag tank would not be without darkness either so I am just going to have them on when the DT lights are on. Problem solved.

Thanks guys

Nice name.

That prob is not solved :) You wanted them on a sep. scedule for ph reasons.

How much light is your display actually getting, just the reflecting light? People leave house lights on at night, which would illuminate thier tanks. I'm one of them. No issues here.
