Anyone have objections to this protein skimmer? Seems like a good price and good capacity. I have a 150 gallon FOWLR with sump. I am looking to spend around this if you have other suggestions?

How about experience with a Red Sea C-skim 1800?

not enough skimmer.

that's a very old design. i ran the regular height one on my 55 12 years ago. worked good on that but a 150, nope.

Don't waste your money, JMO I would look Into an I-Tech 100 or 200 with a Tunze pump.

I would not purchase the one you listed. depending on budget i would check out the msx 200 or look for a good deal in the selling forum on a used one.

Hehe that's an interesting skimmer. Better to find a good one and not get too hung up on cost. It is worth it to buy a good one instead of 3 or 4 not so good ones and risk screwing up your tank.

vertex in 180 or the in 250, msx 200 or 250 and the octopus version, both of the one's you listed personally arent worth it and wont be big enough

Any of the above mentioned will work fine. Don't forget you can also usually get a higher end skimmer used in your price range. Keep an eye on the selling forums or even post a WTB thread. Sometimes its a good way to start...

Unfortunately I am not past my 90 days. Would be nice to benefit from the classifieds......

I'm not sure if I would beable to fit a skimmer in my sump. Are there disadvantage to stand alone skimmers? That is kinda why I looked at the Red Sea 1800.

Red sea just isnt one.
