Does the ballast type matter?

so, i have two 250w hamilton pendants that were supposed to be run by their own 250w magnetic ballast. sadly, one was lost in the mail and the guy didt put a tracking on it so i'm just plain out of a ballast. Now i need to buy another to replace it. However, it seems that nearly everything has gone to electronic ballasts. does it matter what type of ballast i get? Can i use an eletronic ballast with these pendants????

yes you can use either type of ballast. the ballast powers the bulb. the pendant make no difference except for bulb type. you also may have to do some re-wiring.
